Sally qualified as a physiotherapist in 1987 from St Mary's Hospital School of Physiotherapy in London.
On qualifying Sally initially worked in the NHS, in Bournemouth and then Eastbourne, where she developed an interest in neurological rehabilitation. She then moved to Canada and worked in Ontario for 7 years where she continued to focus on clients with neurological problems including Stroke, Acquired Brain Injuries, Parkinson's Disease, Multiple Sclerosis etc.. Her last job in Canada was as the lead physiotherapist for the outpatient rehabilitation hospital in Toronto where her clinical specialty was neurological rehabilitation both within the clinic setting and at home.
On her return to England in 1999 Sally commenced a role as a senior neurological physiotherapist in the local NHS and continues in this post today.
During her career Sally has set up and led: a new Unit for Inpatient Rehabilitation; an integrated inpatient Stroke Care Team; and regular neurological rehabilitation training programmes for newly qualified staff. She uses a variety of approaches to treatment including Bobath, Motor Relearning and Proprioceptive Neuromuscular Facilitation techniques. Treatments are holistic, patient centred and focus on functional goals.
Sally is a member of the Chartered Society of Physiotherapists and the Health Professional Council.
