Laura graduated from Coventry University in 2010 with a Second Class Upper (Hons.) Degree in Occupational Therapy
Laura has experience in Neurological Rehabilitation, Equipment assessment and provision, adult mental health, child and adolescent mental health, and learning disabilities. She has worked for the NHS and in the private sector.
Since graduating she has wasted no time in gaining experience and developing her skills in a range of areas. She moved straight to the busy hub of London to work with people with severe and enduring mental health needs. During her time in London she formed strong links with The College of Occupational Therapists (COT) and has been involved in published articles. She returned to the midlands to be a senior member of a large OT team supporting adolescents with mental health needs, autistic spectrum disorders, and learning disabilities. She has worked closely with all members of the multi-disciplinary team and can use her skills to complement other rehabilitation professions.
Laura has a keen interest in the use of Sensory Integration as a way to improve balance, coordination, and behaviour management.
Laura is a member of the British Association of Occupational Therapists (BAOT) and the Health Professions Council.
